Danielle Trussoni's Newsletter - July 2023
Well, readers, it happened: my new novel The Puzzle Master was published last month. If you’ve been reading this newsletter, you’re aware that I’ve been preparing for this moment for about the past year. And when it happened, it was both exactly as I imagined and nothing at all like what I imagined.
P.S. If you haven’t had a chance to pick up a copy, get one here.
I supposed I should be used to book publications. This is my fourth novel, and my seventh book. And still, it is always an emotional experience to see something you’ve worked on privately for years out in the world. Since you’ve been with me through this whole process, I’d like to share some highlights with you.
First, I learned the day before publication that The Puzzle Master was chosen as the CBS New York Summer Book Club pick with Mary Calvi! Thank you to everyone here who voted for my book. I went on live television the day my novel was published:
On July 18th at 1PM ET, I’ll be joining Mary Calvi’s book club live. Click here to watch it live.
That night, I launched my book at The Mysterious Bookshop in NYC with the charming Chris Pavone:
And had dinner with friends after to celebrate:
Here’s is me with my husband Hadrien:
Another fun event was at the Nantucket Book Festival, where I was in conversation with Tim Weed:
Then on to the Beacon Lit Fest, where a reader made a tiny dollhouse copy of my book for me:
Then on to France, to help promote the French edition of the book: Le Maître des Énigmes:
Here I am with my French editor, Camille Racine:
And then back to New York, where I taped my episode of the CBS New York Summer Book club:
It was a whirlwind, but the truth is, while I love traveling and meeting booksellers and my readers, I’m truly happy when I’m back in the writing cave. I’m here now, working on my next book, which I will have more information about for you soon.

Fianlly, I opened the floor to my friends on social media again this month to take any questions about my new books or the writing/reading/publishing world at large.
